About me

I’m the kind of person who wants to always be growing and exploring in the world of music. As a kid, I taught myself music theory and production in Logic Pro and at the piano, and listened to wide-ranging genres and idioms of music from classical music to rock to electronic and video game music.

Like my taste, my style and influences are eclectic. Brian Wilson, Gustav Holst, C418, Domenico Scarlatti, and Robert Fripp are all names I owe a lot to. I write for myself, but also for listeners like me, who are happy straddling the lines between pop and experimental music and grew up with access and a taste for all sorts of sounds. I’m happy accompanying myself live at the piano, programming out console-accurate chiptunes in Furnace Tracker, orchestrating sweeping concert works, or arranging freeform electronic canvasses in Logic. I often get a lot out of collaborations with other artists, as the interactions of our different tastes and preferences produce something unique and outside of my normal comfort zone – reach out if you’re interested in working together!

I like to have both serious and humorous sides – I’m a staff member of the comedic video game music remix collective SiIvaGunner, and do administrative quality control work for them as well as producing hundreds of original arrangements. I’ve always been attracted to video game music more broadly as well – it was the first music I fell in love with as a kid, playing the DS-era Pokémon games, and I love writing in that style for gaming projects.

Outside of music, I love the outdoors, my dogs Spike and Trixie, reading, gaming, and above all else, learning. I read and edit Wikipedia, and love nonfiction for the sake of it. I want to always be growing. Thank you for joining me!
